Since 1995, Parents Plus has developed eight evidence-based parenting and mental health programmes in collaboration with families and services. We train practitioners to deliver and evaluate these programmes in their organisations and communities, building the capacity of community, mental health, disability, and education services in Ireland and the UK.

The programmes offer universal support for all families, preventative solutions for disadvantaged and at-risk families, and targeted interventions for high-need families facing complex challenges. Read on to explore the eight programmes in more detail.

Parents Plus offer two types of training for professionals who want to deliver our evidence-based parenting and mental health programmes

  • Scheduled Training: Open to all practitioners, our scheduled training takes place online throughout the year. These sessions are ideal for individual practitioners or small teams.
  • Tailored Training: Tailored for services and agencies, this option allows us to deliver the training directly to your team online or at your chosen location. It includes the same comprehensive content as our scheduled training but can be customised to meet the specific needs of your team.

Both options include access to the full suite of Parents Plus resources, ongoing implementation support, and an opportunity to join the Parents Plus Community of Practice.

Parents Plus training is designed to fit into your busy schedule while providing practical, long-term benefits to you, your service, and the families you work with. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Short morning sessions delivered online over several days, making it convenient to participate while managing your other work commitments.
  • Practical skills from experienced trainers in solution-focused group work, proven to enhance parent engagement, reduce waiting lists, and lead to better outcomes for families.
  • Access to a supportive community of practice, providing a space for continuous learning and development even after the training ends.
  • Affordable training with a purpose. As a charity, all profits from training and materials are reinvested into developing new programmes to meet evolving family needs and sponsoring training and mentoring for services with limited-funding supporting high-need families.

Parents Plus are here to support you every step of the way in your implementation process.

We provide coaching to managers and project leads, and can facilitate planning workshops for large multi-agency community roll outs.

If you are a manager, service commissioner, or a lead facilitator and you would like to avail of our tailored training or discuss your service needs and programme implementation, please contact our Impact Lead, Vicki Byrne at vicki@parentsplus.ie.
